Adam Milstein: Helping Israeli-Americans Understand Their Jewish Identity through Philanthropy

Adam Milstein is an Israeli-American philanthropist. He was born in Haifa, Israel in 1952 before migrating to the US in 1981. Being the son of a real developer father, Mr. Adam Milstein has grown to become one of the most successful real estate investors in the US. He is currently the managing partner at Hager Pacific Properties.

During his early years, the state of Israel was also growing. Apart from the real estate businesses, Adam and his wife, Gila are greatly involved in philanthropic work. They run the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation. The Foundation donates over $1 million every year to support organizations that advocate for the rights and welfare of the Israel and the Jewish people.

His Early Life and Education

While young, his family moved to Kiryat Motzkin where he spent most of his childhood life. In 1971, Adam enrolled to the Israel Defense Forces. While in the Army, he served in the Yom Kippur War in 1993. His brigade was commanded by the future Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Shalom. Adam enrolled in Technician University where he graduated with a Business and Economics degree in 1978. In 1974, he married Gila Elgrably.

In 1981, Adam and his wife Gila together with their two daughters migrated to the United States. While in the US, he furthered his studies at the University of Southern California, graduating with an MBA in 1983. He later started work as a sales representative for a commercial real estate agency called Hager Pacific. He worked his way up, and he is currently a managing partner of the company.

His Philanthropic Work

His philanthropic spirit was awaked by a colleague and friend who inspired him to help his community. Nowadays, his philanthropic work is centered on helping organizations that are advancing the welfare of the Jewish people and the State of Israel. He and his wife founded the Adam and Gila Foundation.

The Foundation does a lot of work such as sponsoring programs that help young academics and professionals to connect with their State of Israel and understand their identity. This strategic philanthropic work has not only earned him recognition in Israel but also has made him very famous in the US.

Adam’s philanthropic work is an inspiration for many who have aspirations in philanthropy. His love for his country and what he has done for his country cannot go unnoticed. In April 2017, he was recognized as one of the Top 200 Most Influential Do-Gooders globally.
